Dual Boot OS installation problem

I partitioned a 1 Tb drive with windows 8 on first partition. Trying to install windows 7 on 2nd partition. Will boot from DVD & load files but when windows tries to open it stops & must restart computer to get out of freeze. Computer is Gateway DX4860-UR28.

1) What is the UEFI/BIOS firmware OS boot setting? (UEFI or Legacy)

2) What mode is Windows 8 in installed in? (UEFI or Legacy)

3) Is Secure Boot DISABLED?

4) Can you post a screen shot of Disk management?

1) Setting is UEFI

2) WIN 8 UEFI

3) Secure Boot is DISABLED

4) No knowledge of Screen Shot.

1) Windows 7 on your Gateway will not install in UEFI mode.

Warning you must have the UEFI/BIOS firmware setting in Step Three set.

When you say you disabled Secure Boot, did you enable the CSM?

A Windows 7 DVD will go through the loading files, but just after the 4 colors come together on the Logo screen a system will stop. How it stops depends on the OEM and what they have set up. It may reboot or give you an error message, or whatever.

If it is freezing for some other reason, it might be some type of driver situation. Disabling devices in the bios might help, and a Bluetooth device might be involved.
