    I remember when I did the 1st install in advance getting rid of all partitions on Drive #0 (SSD) and Drive #1 Spinner.
    I assume I will also have to remove the Hidden 350MB partition that Win 8 created it'self.

    Fixed: SATA/AHCI vs IDE


    Did a clean re-install with the BIOS SATA AHCI set, all is now fine.

    I have a single entry in the Device Manager Controller: "Standard SATA AHCI Controller"

When I tried to change SATA mode to AHCI in BIOS, it bluescreened while loading. I looked up the registry tweaks, but my registry seems to already be set up for AHCI.
I have two separate instances of Win8 running on two separate IDE hard drives (both Win8's restored from same exact backup image). The one on the hard drive comected to the SATA port (via an adaptor) runs fine, but the one on the IDE connection (motherboard's only one), does not respond properly...
