I want to install W8 Pro onto the second partition of my laptop that already has W7 Pro installed. What are the correct settings for the second partition(simple, active, primary, etc) so that the existing System Reserved partition used by W7 won't get clobbered? Is this even possible?

Thank you for your assistance. I have one last question to ask and you might know the answer. I have four partitions on the laptop.
W7 Systetm Reserved 100MB marked as OEM
Dell Recovery Partition 9.7gb marked as ACTIVE and primary
W7 180gb OS(C) partition marked as primary, simple, boot, crash etc.
D 100gb marked as primay and simple with no operating system on it. This is the one I want to put W8 in.

Question.
Am I going to run into problems with too many primary partitions or no room for the W8 System Reserved thing?

I find it better to use a different hard drive to try a new OS, that way if you have any problems with the install or drivers all you have to do is install your original hard drive until you can fix the problem.
