Solved Where is Windows 8 Licence key in Sony Vaio Laptop?

Hello, I buyed a sony laptop from a shopping.

First Question: before it ... can i sure that my sony laptop is new notebook or refurbished laptop ?

Two Question: Windows original in my laptop is Windows 8 ... can i install windows manually? where is licence? ( I saw under laptop beside battery) but not found!

Three Question: Can i use licence windows 8 for upgrade to windows 8.1 ?

1. If it's been properly refurbished , unless there was some damage / scratches to the case , you can't easily tell..did it come boxed with security seals on it?

2. The licence key is probably built into the BIOS , if it was made for Windows 8 then a lot of these have it encoded directly.

3. if it has Windows 8 installed already , then 8.1 when it's released is an upgrade patch released through the app store.

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

You can order the Microsoft official OEM Recovery disks from the OEM manufacturer's website.





The Recovery USB drive can be very problematic, I recommend you also make a Windows System Image.

look for a 3rd party ,Backup software, which fully supports Windows 8, uEFI, GPT & Secure Boot.
Which is signed by Microsoft.
