it's been 5 hours now and the reset is only at 7%. Will it brick the pc tp remove the power and try and reset it?

Is the percentage still increasing? You do have it plugged in, correct?

When you did the reset, did you tell it to clean the drive/s or just replace your files?

It you told it to clean the drives, I am not sure how it does that, but it might take a while for the drives to be reformatted, if that is part of the procedure... Maybe someone else knows this process in more detail.

Mine (a minimal install) takes about 15 minutes if I just replace my files and around an hour if I clean the OS partition. You may no longer have the option to just replace your files.

Hard for me to say what might happen if you reset now. I suppose the final result might depend on how the reset is set up, but there is a good chance you would still have to reset the system. You might end up doing the first 5 hours over again...

I would think the odds are good that bad things will happen if you force a shutdown or reboot before its done. Might I ask why you did the reset? If the hard drive has a corrupted file system and or errors that could explain the long time lapse.
