I am pretty new to Windows8. I just mess up with my Dell XPS 12 yesterday by using a partition tool to create a 2nd partition from C:\

now When I boot into the system, I got the following message: "File \windows\system32\winload.efi. Error code: 0X0000225"

I then create a win 8 pro x64 USB and try to recover, but the re-set, refresh and system restore woudln't work.

I did some research i tried all the command bootrec /XYZ , but still no luck.
I saw some people can use bootedit to fix this issue, but this command has problem to run on the PE environment on the X: drive.

I even try to reinstall the OS, but it would;'t let me do it because it's a GPT partition. If I can fix this issue, i really don't want to re-install....... any suggestion?

Was the 3rd party Partitioning,Backup & Cloning software, which you used fully support Windows 8, uEFI, GPT & Secure Boot?
Which is signed by Microsoft.

How to install Windows 64 bit on a uEFI/BIOS firmware:
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...e-firmware-interface-install-windows-8-a.html

the software is EaseUS Partition, i am not sure it supported win8. but now it mess up.
How can I fix the boot? if I really comes to re-install?
how can I pull the product key from the pre-installed system.

how can I pull the product key from the pre-installed system.

No product key is need to reinstall Windows 8 Pre-installed, as key is coded in UEFI/BIOS firmware.
