Will Windows 8.1 Upgrade Lose Your Calendar Settings?

I'm currently running Windows 8 that my laptop came with. I decided to wait for the official 8.1 release in October instead of the Preview.
I have a lot of Calendar reminders on my Windows 8 Stock Calendar and I was wondering when I upgrade to 8.1, will those reminders disappear?

I'm asking this because I've been reading a lot of articles that you have to re-install your apps and settings after the update.

Although you probably can't confirm this until it has released (I guess).
Has anyone lost their reminders on when they switched from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Preview?

    Upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro

You can upgrade to Windows 8.1 Preview Pro and keep Windows settings, personal files, and applications from the following Windows operating system editions:

    • Windows 8
    • Windows 8 Pro
    • Windows 8 Pro with Media Center

I'm assuming Preview and RTM are interchangeable in this context and thus application settings should be retained.

Can you export the calendar reminders just to be safe?

Yes. It is a double-bladed axe, sometimes.
I was planning on a real fresh start. I have customised Windows 8 quite a lot, and had a plane to start over. After installing Windows 8.1, I found it had recovered about 90% of my previous settings. That did include calendar settings and reminders.

Just a word of advice (probably not required but ..), its always good practice to image your old system before applying an upgrade, so should their be a need later, one could then restore that system to before the upgrade and apply the upgrade with the official release 18 Oct...

Taking a full image definitely saved me when I was upgrading to 8...

I had a PC for which Microsoft Update downloaded a duff driver, and as it was coming from XP (and I'd not figured out the workarounds by then) you don't get the option of an ISO download, so I had a broken BSOD'ing PC and no install media.

I was very grateful to be able to go back to the backup image at that point and do it a second time but learning from the issues.

Hi. I got a Windows 8 32-bit copy from MSDNAA and tried to do an in-place upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 with it. Everything was going fine and dandy (albeit slow) until it got stuck at "Moving your settings: 97%". Left it running for half an hour but it did nothing, so I had to do a hard...
Hello! For anyone who syncs the Metro Calendar app with Google Calendar, does it show more than just your primary calendar? Mine only shows my primary and it's a little sparse because of it. :( Thanks in advance, ~Ibrahim~
I have several calendars under one Google Calendar account (usually by school subject and other important matters) but Metro Calendar app only syncs one default calendar, which I only use it to note Holidays. Is there a way to sync all Google Calendars using Metro Calender app? Thank you!!
Hi, I can't get the popup reminders for the calendars to work. Neither in the Metro calendar nor in Outlook. I also can't make them synchronize. Does anyone know? Do sound alerts exist at all in Windows calendars or just pop ups if any?
