Pro Upgrade - what if I want to re-install?

There's a special offer for the Windows 8 Pro upgrade for students which would be cheaper than the next cheapest method which would be to get Windows 8 OEM copy.

My question is - I know it says you must have Windows 7 to install Windows 8 Pro Upgrade, but what if I want to re-install fresh in the future? i.e. I want to format and do a complete re-install? Will it work? Is it possible? Or is it seriously just a one-time upgrade from an existing installation only?

You can do a clean install, but you need to delete the Windows 7 install.
