I bought a brand new Clevo W230ST/Sager NP7330. The setup of the laptop drives are as follows:
- mSATA SSD Drive - Configuration Option: Non-RAID Storage
- mSATA SSD Drive ( Slot 1 ): 256GB Crucial M4 mSATA SSD - Preconfigured as an OS Drive ( Operating System – Drive C: )
- Primary Hard Drive: 1,000GB [1TB] 5400RPM [Serial-ATA II 3GB/s] (SKU - S5R353)

I had a windows 8 USB install drive so I opted not to buy it. However, I'm having problems trying to install windows 8. The installation boots up, lets you select language and region, and allows you to click Install. However, after that, the error:

"A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Har Disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.

Note: If the installation media for Windows is in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step.

with Browse, OK and Cancel"

The installation can't proceed past this point.

Things I've done to try to resolve this:

1. I've re-downloaded the ISO and reburned it onto the USB.
2. I'm using a USB 2.0 SanDisk Cruzer Blade at the left USB 2.0 port.
3. The Sata drive is set to AHCI.
4. I've enabled UEFI boot for USB.
5. I've change the primary boot drive to USB.

Please help!

Is your USB drive formatted in FAT32? That will be required to install via UEFI.

The only time I got that error was from a corrupted ISO - those ESD files sometimes do not get decrypted correctly after download - I would compare the hash with that on technet subscriber downloads anyway...

Progress?

I had a windows 8 USB install drive so I opted not to buy it. However, I'm having problems trying to install windows 8.

Hey there! Any progress with your situation? I'm planning on buying a Sager NP7352 (Clevo W350ST), and going the same route - except I'm getting a Plextor SSD from Amazon instead. Is installing a copy of Windows yourself such a hassle?

I have never owned a custom build laptop before, only had an HP before this. It was easy enough doing a clean reinstall but this seems to be a problem with other Sager users as well. Please update us if you find a way. Thanks! =)

The reason for the error:

"A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Har Disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now."

Is because the drives are formated to MBR not GPT. To install windows 8 in UEFI mode you need to convert the disks to a GPT partition table, see:
