    New PC Installation Problems!

So I've built a new PC and I am finally getting around to installing Windows 8 when it just freezes at the splash screen. I just see the light blue windows 8 logo and no rotating progress thing. I tried to work around this by first installing my copy of Windows 7, but the same thing happens. It finishes loading the set up files, and the moment that it says that it's starting up windows, two of the little orbs appear and it just freezes. Computer Specs:

    PSU: Corsair CX750M

    MOBO: MSI FM2-A85XA-G65

RAM: 2x4GB Crucial Ballistix Sports VLP DDR3

    CPU: AMD A10 5800K

    GPU: MSI Radeon HD 7870

Monitor: Asus VN 247 LCD Monitor

Please, let me know if there is anything else you need to know! Thanks in advanced!

Try removing half the memory and test. If it still fails swap the memory and test again.

Disconnect anything not absolutely needed to boot.

Well, you have to start somewhere so I would try the following:

    Reset my BIOS to defaults
Physically remove the Radeon HD 7870
Move the monitor cable to the integrated DVI graphics port
Try a clean install of Windows 8 using this tutorial:

    Clean Install - Windows 8

This would at least eliminate any hardware issue associated with the Radeon 7870 which I assume you correctly installed with the aux power connections. Good luck.

A problem it also seems to have is that I have no way of getting back into the bios after, I've attempted the first time to install the OS, so I'm not too sure how to get back in. I will try removing the card, and trying with one stick of RAM. I will also double check to make sure I correctly plugged in my Graphics Card to my PSU

You will usually get a visual display from your BIOS right after you apply power. This display should also include instructions on how to enter the BIOS. This is usually done by depressing an F key or Del key (as directed by your specific BIOS display).

Now, after swapping things out, and in. I seem to be getting no response from anything plugged into the mother board. It turns on, and everything seems to start running, but the Monitors are getting no input, and the keyboard and mouse no not light up.

Did you change the BIOS settings for your graphics to match the selected output? I'm not sure what your options are specifically but if you are using the DVI connection on your mobo, the graphics option should be set to something like onboard or integrated. If using the Radeon HD 7870, it should be set to something like PCI-e.

Happy to say after taking out GPU, moving around the RAM, and resetting the bios, only changing to the boot sequence to prioritize the disk, it's installing Windows 7. I will shortly follow up with trying to install Windows 8, thank you all for your help! I will keep this thread open for a little while longer just incase any other problems show up.
