    how to reinstall windows 8?

Okay so I am doing the reset option built in to windows 8 but its taking me almost 3 hours to get to 51%. Is resetting windows 8 almot the same thing as reformatting? I would like to know is there a legal downloadable way to get windows 8 iso like windows 7 iso from digital river? I want to reinstall windows 8 without all the junk that the laptop company puts on it that is why I don't use the recovery partition.

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.
Recovery Drive - Create with USB Flash Drive in Windows 8
System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8

You can use the OEM version of
Recovery Drive - Create with USB Flash Drive in Windows 8

Deleting the Recovery Partition is NOT RECOMMENDED

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

You can order OEM Recovery disks from your OEM manufacturer's website.
Most OEM's will ship Recovery DVD's for FREE, (may be a postage fee)

Levono doesn't let me make a recovery disc and I don't like recovery partitions because of all the junk they put.

I would figure probably another 3 hours, maybe.

This seems like an awful long time.

This is a tutorial by Lenovo using the Windows 8 USB Drive Recovery app.

Other than TechNet and MSDN which are subscription services, I haven't seen another official source for original Microsoft Windows 8 ISO's. The first time I did a clean install on my ASUS laptop I had to resort to a bit torrent download. I verified the MD5 hash code against what was posted on TechNet to make sure it hadn't been altered or modified. Now that I'm a Microsoft MVP I have access to TechNet and MSDN so this time around I used an ISO from there. 8.1 didn't work out for me I just did a clean install of 8.

If the laptop uses UEFI (hope that's right), and came with Win 8 installed then any Win 8 disc can be used to reinstall the OS without all the factory crap.

I bought a copy of win 8 from Staples, and use that whenever I do a reinstall, and after three (since October) I have never been asked for a serial number since it is embedded into the Bios.

BTW, it will take a lot less time that doing that stupid factory restore (did that the first time, and it was just unreal. . .never again).
