Help Please - New windows 8 laptop, no Metro UI at all??

Hi,

Ive recently got a new laptop from uni with windows 8 pre installed along with some other software. However it is not really functioning like windows 8

To be honest it just looks like a snazzy windows 7! Press the start logo or keyboard shortcut brings up the start menu like all previous windows have done, there is no sign of the new Metro UI where the apps are and stuff.

Any help on finding out why I have a naff set up would be great.

Windows 8 64 bt

Check the 'other software', maybe there is a third party program blocking the Metro UI.

the other software is just dyslexia aids to help with essay writing etc.

All sorted, turns out IT had put some sort of dumbing down program on to make 8 look like 7!
