what can you recommend to do a backup of my system before I wipe it and clean install windows..
I want a simple and effective program that works..
I know even windows 8 has a usb recovery disk.. can i clone/backup my hard drive through windows and is it effective?

I just upgraded to windows 8. I first install it, and then I Re-install it again using UEFI mode install.
On this screen (below), I Forgot! to click "NEW", (I just went ahead and click next).
Now this is what I get:...
So, what is that basically ? When i boot from my usb stick, i have the option to install in UEFI mode and in normal mode.
I know in UEFI mode it makes 4 partitions, and in normal mode just 2 partitions.
So basically if i install in UEFI mode i will have better windows 8 implementation and it...

Side note - I succeeded on installing Windows 8 on that particular laptop using UEFI, but NOT legacy. No matter what I tried it failed.
I am using Windows 8 since release now but just figured out it was never installed in UEFI mode. So I wanted to reinstall it. The first problem I had was I couldnt boot from my DVD I burned the iso file on the Windows 8 setup too created for me, there is no UEFI boot option available.
