No On Screen Keyboard, No Apps.

Hi, I have installed the 32 bit version of windows 8 on a 10" Hanvon Tablet. When you first log in, the Onscreen keyboard comes up, but after that, when ever I hit the keyboard icon in the task bar, I only get a black line across the bottom that says "Dock". Also none of the apps work. IE: No Paino, no games, only the desktop icon, control panel and system icons work?

Anyone have any ideas what is happening???

You click a Metro app, and the time moves but nothing else happens? This may be a display issue. Metro apps don't currently support screen resolutions lower than 1024x768, so increase your resolution if possible (launch the desktop, right-click, select Screen Resolution)

Looks like I am out of luck then. The highest my tablet will go is 1024 x 600 unless someone knows of a work around???

I don't think you'll be able to hack a higher resolution if your display GPU (or whatever it is you're using) isn't actually capable of that resolution. Perhaps you could do some research on that and let us know the result?

Contact mfg and/or go to their website and see if the have another driver.

I am not optimistic, but I'll press my thumbs for you (or cross fiingers-whatever your national preference is).

What model do you have ? What graphic card ?

With a registry trick "Mobile Intel Express 945 / 950" can not only use 1024x600 and 800x600 but also upscale to 1024x768 and 1152x864.

Search in registry for "Display1_DownScalingSupported" and change value from 0 to 1. Reboot and change resolution to 1152x864.
