Win 8 install on SSD connected to mSATA 7 pin adapter

mSATA to 7 pin adapter for SSD or HDD: mSATA to 7pin SATA Adapter

reviews on Amazon.com: Amazon.com: Micro SATA Cables - mSATA to 7pin SATA Adapter: Electronics

I ordered a Dell XPS 8500 Special Edition desktop with a 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate OS installed on a 500GB Samsung 840 SSD and a 3TB HDD for videos/music/documents/etc. I want to install Windows 8 so that it will be a dual boot system along with Windows 7. Each OS will be on a separate SSD. I have an empty mSATA port. So, I've ordered a mSATA to 7 pin adapter like above to connect a 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD to and to install Windows 8 on it. I understand that this mSATA connector should make the 256GB SSD bootable.

The desktop comes with an OEM Windows 8 installation disk. I have a Windows 8 Pro upgrade disk. What would happen if I had to install Windows 8 a second time on the same SSD on the same desktop? I've read that the 8 Pro upgrade deletes the original OEM serial number. How would I install Win 8 again if I would need to for some reason? Would I have to purchase another edition of Win 8?

With the 3TB HDD, I would like to partition it so that both Win 7 and Win 8 can use it, but on separate partitions. How would I do this? Would it be like any partition? GTP?

Thank you for your help on this. I'm not well versed in computerology. I am a 61 year old rookie, so to speak.

You can only install one of the OS's (windows 7 or 8)

I have a Windows 8 Pro upgrade disk.
If you install Windows 7, You can upgrade your Windows 7 x64 with the Windows 8 upgrade, but to dual boot you will need the full version.

Upgrade to Windows 8 - Microsoft Windows

If you want to build your own PC and install Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro, or want an additional operating system running in either a local virtual machine or separate partition (including a Mac), you can purchase the Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro System Builder products (OEM versions). If available in your country or region, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro System Builder products can be purchased at participating stores, you'll need to ask a sales rep for more info. This version doesn't include customer support.

The computer will have 3 drives of which two are SSDs. One SSD has Win 7 already installed.

I was hoping to install Win 8 on the other SSD with the OEM Win 8 disk. Then upgrade to Win 8 Pro.

I don't want to upgrade Win 7 with the Win 8 Pro.

I was going to use the OEM Win 8 for installation and then upgrade to Pro with my Win 8 Pro installation disk. This way Win 7 will be on one SSD and Win 8 Pro on the other SSD. You are saying that this won't work, right?

So, I'll have to purchase the full version of either Win 8 or Win 8 Pro to have a dual boot system, correct?

EDIT: If I want Windows 8 Pro with the media center, I'll need the following, correct? The disks that I have are no good, right?
Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (Full Version) OEM: Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (Full Version) - Newegg.com
Microsoft Windows 8 Pro Pack: Windows 8 Pro Pack - Microsoft Store

64 bit Win 7 Ultimate is already installed on one SSD. I don't need to purchase 64bit Win 7 ultimate again. Why are you suggesting this?

I want to install Windows 8 Pro on the other SSD. I have an OEM Windows 8 install disk and a Windows 8 Pro Upgrade disk. This should be all I need, correct?
