Windows 8 and windows 8pro

Ok here goes, I have a a desktop PC that had windows 7 and I bought and installed windows 8 pro upgrade for $40. Here is my problem, I just bought a new laptop with windows 8...not pro. Can I use my window 8 pro upgrade on the laptop, after I remove windows 8 from the desktop.

I don't think so, for you need the qualifying OS to upgrade which was on your older machine.

I believe only System Builder editions can be moved.

To upgrade Windows 8 core, you need to use the Pro Pack.

To upgrade to Pro Pack
No install files needed.
Only the Upgrade key is need.
