Does Win8 have a 'restore' function like Win 7

I installed Win 8 Pro on my Win 7 Ultimate desktop. Can I go back to Win 7 by any means?

If you have a System Image you can boot from Windows 7 DVD and restore the system, otherwise you'll need to perform a clean install.

Have your product key handy. You can find it in your online order information, in the confirmation email for your purchase, or on the packaging. The product key will look something like this:
    XXXXX- XXXXX- XXXXX- XXXXX- XXXXX

Make a backup of everything you want to keep. Save it somewhere you can get to it later, like an external drive or a DVD.

Reinstall or restore from a previously made Win7 image backup is required.

I don't know if reversing an upgrade is possible.

Try program called Spinrite. Download and burn to cd. Boot up from cd and let it attempt deep repairs on the disc

Don't waste time with SpinRite. It WILL NOT give you Windows 7 back.
