I got the windows 8 consumer preview last year and upgraded to windows 8 when it was released for $40. Back then I had two operating systems, Windows 7 home premium (Which was on the main partition) and Windows 8 preview. I upgraded the preview to 8 but now I am running out of space and I would like to delete the partition with windows 7 on it and merge that with the windows 8 partition.

However I cannot delete the win7 partition as it is the system partition and the windows 8 partition is the boot system ( And also it is a logical drive).

I have a major problem now, I deleted windows 7 from the boot tab of msconfig and converted the partition from logical to primary but now I have a massive problem; When it rebooted, It had no Internet or Audio. Also when I tried resetting the system via the settings screen, It said no changes were made.

That is strange.

I suppose you could try a reset/refresh from the installation media.

I bought the $40 upgrade (which was a download). However I checked on the micro soft account that I bought it on and it says nothing about downloading the installer again. I am still searching for it though.

So I have the setup file and the product key from the email but still the audio and the Internet has a cross over it. I tried connecting it via Ethernet cable and it still wouldn't recognise it. Is there any way that I can get back onto windows 7?

You need to re-add your Windows 7 boot entry (boot loader) back into the Boot tab of your msconfig.
