If you only have two partition, Windows 8 x64 is not install in UEFI mode.

As the new MOBO's now have a UEFI/BIOS firmware.

You need to go to disk management to actually see if there are more than two partitions. The system reserved, UEFI and recovery partitions won't show up on the "Computer" screen.

    I know that

The 2 partitions are from my w8 install on my old mobo w/bios. Ialready know to format and delete them. My question was about if anyone could tell me how to overprovision my ssd prior to the new w8 install.

You can delete any and all partitions during the install, if that's what your asking. When you get to the screen that asks you where you want to install Windows 8, click on the "Drive Options (advanced)"

If I were you, I would do a Secure Erase. That should suffice.

If your ssd does not have software to help you increase OP you can go to disk management, make sure there are no partitions, then you can shrink volume to whatever size you want.

Whatever is left over will be used for OP.
