can you install win8 trial without a previous os?

Is it possible to install the win8 trial on a new machine that has no os on it and will it work?

As the new MOBO's now have a UEFI/BIOS firmware.

I have installed the trial onto my new pc but it just goes to a black screen after the windows 8 logo appears

Try using a Video card with VGA & Monitor.

Is how im currently connected with dvd-i connected to avg adapter and hdmi also
