Hi there
I don't want to use a 3rd party application - but it would seem to me if one could start ANY standard application immediately a user logs in then you'd get to the desktop immediately on boot without relying on Start8 or any of these other work arounds. You could start say a "Dummy" application.

I think there's something in Local policies or whatever with start up scripts -- I'm not a programmer but I wonder if some of our more experienced bretheren in this area feel that this might be a way of bypassing the start screen on boot.

Cheers
jimbo

I never use Task Scheduler, but maybe it would do what your want. Starting automatically to, for example, Chrome might do the trick (not iE I think). Many would want a browser open when getting started on a "day's" work or play.

Edit: I now see that medab1 apparently is talking about Task Scheduler also.
