That site is not "official." There is no place to get an "official" ISO unless you have a non-OEM preinstalled product key (not even sure if a system builder product key would work--doubt it), subscribe to Technet, or are part of MSDN (and, the OS software from Technet and MSDN, which require Technet or MSDN product keys, is for evaluation purposes only).

That's not what I asked. Just where I can obtain a copy that's legit. I'll verify the hash of course, but if there's a known safe place to go I'd prefer that. The DRM on this is all pretty ridiculous. I'm not looking to get a free copy just to set up my computer the way that I want with the software that came with it.
I don't know of any legit download sites. Your best bet is to buy from a mfg who includes an actual OS reinstall disk (Dell does this, but you have to pay an extra $2.00 when yo uorder). Another great option is a Technet subscription, than you can download anything you want and try it out.

I like the $2 idea, but, when it comes to getting a Technet subscription, I'd think he'd be happier with system builder (see the 4 versions and prices here)--installing under the personal use license. But, of course, if what he really wants is a legit ISO, then maybe he should find a non-Win8 computer of the same bitness as his, and where the desired version of Win8 would be "selected" by the upgrade assistant, and use Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant - Download and Run. Then, again, all the options mentioned here, except for the $2 one, are pretty pricey.
