I've been trying to install windows 8 recently on my computer on AHCI mode and it get stuck on the windows 8 logo, so it doesn't even reach the installation, on the other side in IDE mode there's no problem at all. The motherboard is a MSI Z77A-GD55 and the SSD is a vertex 4. Anyone knows something about this issue, if I can't get it to work is there a big difference in performance?

Edit: I'm about to try and update my SSD firmware to see if it changes anything.
