Prove me wrong. Please. But I have spent enormous time (wasted) on trying to clone an Asus 750GB HDD to a Seagate 750GB SSD+HDD Hybrid. I've tried numerous free programs & various BIOS settings and have failed everytime. My simple goal was to take this original hard drive and just clone it to the new drive so that the BIOS would recognize it as if it was factory installed. I just wanted to take advantage of some particular programs that came with this ASUS-K55A laptop.
I am content for now, but if a program or application comes out that can 'fully clone'* these drives in W8, I will gladly attempt it again.
* By fully clone I mean so the BIOS can be fooled into believing the new hard drive is factory & all apps are there.
I'm a little whacked from all that I have tried. The details aren't worth sharing because all I want is a guaranteed solution to this new means of Secure Boot and all that goes with UEFI & such.
Good night.
