    Upgrade Time?

Hello. I am new to the forum. I am having conflicting information on this so please help try to steer me in the proper direction. I am presently running Windows 7 as my main OS. I have a Windows 8 Pro disk I had bought a few months ago. I am told it is always better to do a clean install instead of a in place upgrade. Although I did a compatibility check with all of my applications and hardware, and they came out ok for Windows 8, I am still a little skiddish about doing a in place upgrade over Windows 7. Do you think I would have driver issues or other problems doing this our should I even bother doing a upgrade? Thanks in advance for any replies. Michael

As for your query on which method to use, some users have reported that in-place upgrade using the Upgrade Assistant works really well in Eight.

How to Download and Run the "Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant"

I'm more of a clean install type

    Hope this helps

I upgraded from Win 8 OEM to Win 8 Pro & 12 drivers were out of date.
This may not happen to you if you upgrade to Pro.
    Just relating my experience.

They were probably already outdated in the OEM version.
Didn't notice any problems until after upgrading to Pro.

Okay, so everytime I run Chkdsk it always finds errors on the disk. I am unsure why, but if I run chkdsk back to back, it will keep constantly find new errors every time. Also, the Chkdsk takes about 2 and a half hours to complete, and always gets stuck at 10% for most of that time. This is...
Hey gang, I'm a creative professional and music producer. My current setup on Windows 8.1 involves a 240GB SSD for C:, and then I have a WD Black Caviar 2TB which is split in two equal partitions (1TB for Design Arts, 1TB for Music Studio), and finally a small 250GB drive which I use as Adobe...

I'm wondering if anyone has tried ToolWiz Time Freeze or Time Machine on W8? It looks interesting. I'm reading the info for Time Machine but so far I see no mention of GPT. With rollback type stuff my biggest fear is that the rollback software will hose my system rather than the malware. :)
I want to make like a color changing background. One picture a lot of colors. I want to set background timer to 0.2 or what would fit for it to be smooth. Kind of like this : http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzamr7NxJL1qjm5bto1_500.gif
(At least the Recycle Bin can be removed without a registry edit hack. These have always been my top 2 peeves of Windows.) How please. From the desktop view I simply want to look down and to the right to see the “Sunday, September 8, 2013 – 2:17PM” I see now ... but have to move my mouse...
I've done this about 10 times now, each time it fails. It installs the OS and it reboots itself a few times then it rolls back and boots back into Windows 7. I did some investigation and it seems that it's getting a blue screen. So the last 2 attempts, I've checked the minidumps it saves. ...
