Upgrade Time?

Hello. I am new to the forum. I am having conflicting information on this so please help try to steer me in the proper direction. I am presently running Windows 7 as my main OS. I have a Windows 8 Pro disk I had bought a few months ago. I am told it is always better to do a clean install instead of a in place upgrade. Although I did a compatibility check with all of my applications and hardware, and they came out ok for Windows 8, I am still a little skiddish about doing a in place upgrade over Windows 7. Do you think I would have driver issues or other problems doing this our should I even bother doing a upgrade? Thanks in advance for any replies. Michael

I upgraded from Win 8 OEM to Win 8 Pro & 12 drivers were out of date.
This may not happen to you if you upgrade to Pro.
Just relating my experience.

Just relating my experience.

Windows 8 OEM core & Windows 8 Pro have the same drivers.

They were probably already outdated in the OEM version.
Didn't notice any problems until after upgrading to Pro.
