    Downgrading to Windows 7 ISSUE!

    Hello.

I bought the laptop HP Envy 6 1106TX which came with a Pre-installed Windows 8.

So I made a Windows 7 Bootable USB. Turned off Secure boot & Enabled Legacy and set the boot to USB in boot options.

    The Windows 7 Setup started.

    PROBLEM:

The problem is that when i click on Custom Install, It does not show any Harddrive/SSD or anything.

    What should i do :/ ?

Try setting your BIOS back to defaults, then select Boot Menu on startup (F12 on mine), then select USB boot (if it appears as an option) and see what happens. Other options might be to change the BIOS from AHCI to SATA and try to revert to AHCI "after" the installation and/or download specific Win 7 drivers for your rig and use them during the "load drivers" segment of your installation. Please note that I am not specifically recommending either of the latter suggestions. Good luck.

See Downgrade question and Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7. What Win7 medium are you using--e.g., retail full install, upgrade from OEM preinstalled XP or Vista? Using 64-bit Win7, right? You have Win8 core, right?

    Welcome to EightForums

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.
Recovery Drive - Create with USB Flash Drive in Windows 8
System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8

You can use the HP version of
Recovery Drive - Create with USB Flash Drive in Windows 8

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

    1) Downgrade to Windows 7.
Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7
Warning you must have the uEFI/BIOS firmware setting in Step Three set.

    2) If Using a USB Pendrive on a PC with a uEFI BIOS.
USB Pendrive need to be formated to FAT32 as in
UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows
Take note of Step 11 for Windows 7.
Also you will need to use a USB 2.0 port, as there are no USB 3.0 drivers in Windows 7.

    GPT To MBR Drive Issue

    Hello.

Is there anyway to convert a Drive from GPT To MBR? My laptop came with preinstalled Windows 8, I'm downgrading to Windows 7, But i guess my Partitions are GPT, Windows 7 does not detect them. So I've to convert the GPT Partition to MBR.

I know that it can be done by Deleting & Creating the partition again, But the real issue is that There's Just 1 Partition :/ which contains the OS.

Now how can i convert it?

YES I MADE THE RECOVERY DISKS.

My ultrabook doesn't have any Optical drive, So i'm using an external one. I have a Windows 7 DVD, And i Just got a Windows 8 DVD too.

I disabled Secure Boot, Turned on Legacy. Started installing windows 8, After i click Custom Install. It asks me to load Storage Devices.

What is Storage Devices? Where should i get them from?

I just did, There were just Windows 8 64Bit Drivers.

I Downloaded Intel Rapid Storage Technology Drivers. Loaded them into Windows 7 Installation when it asked, The 32Bit was quite successful but the problem is that when i Load 64Bits Drivers! It says that Only Signed 64bit drivers are allowed.

    Any solutions?

    Hey theog,

Thanks alot for helping. And i'm sorry to bug again & again.

I loaded the 32bit and the Harddisk got visible. Then i get back to Install now Screen. And clicked INSTALL NOW and selected 64 Bit Windows 7. And it went up, i selected the harddisk and installed. After it got finished, My laptop restarted and then when the windows logo appears up, a Blue screen appears and the laptop restarts :/

So was that issue because i loaded 32 bit & installed 64 bit? Does this will work good, the one you provided in the link?
