    HELP! Stuck with Windows 8

    Hello everyone.

I tried searching alot about it in the forums already but didn't find any convincing posts :|

So i just bought HP Envy 6 1106TX today. It comes with a preloaded Windows 8.

The windows version is 'Windows 8 Single Language'

I don't want all the crap, bloatware or whatever. Not even one of them!

    It contains 32GB SSD + 500GB HDD.

I want to do is a CLEAN Install. Delete everything from the SSD & HDD. Install windows in SSD. Create few partitions over in HDD.

But the problem is that i can't do that with the recovery & restore or whatever.

I already have found my Product Key using BELARC Advisor!

How do i find an ISO that i can burn & install + use my cdkey or whatever.

CLEAN INSTALL! i want a solution to that :'(

    Thansk

Is that a seperate SSD or is it part of a hybrid SSD/HDD setup where the SSD is only used as a caching device. If that is the case, you probably cannot install on the SSD seperately.

For the rest, check this: The Official Windows 8 Repository

You won't be able to find a free ISO legally. Your embedded product key would work, for example, if you bought MS system builder software and installed under the personal-use license--which is what I would do.

Well i don't know if it's Hybird or a Separate one. The main thing is that i want a Clean Custom Install (Delete partitions, Make new ones & all)

    @znod

Sorry i didn't get you. So suppose i do get an ISO from somewhere! Would my key work with it? the thing is that my windows shows that 'Windows 8 Single Language' while the ISO i found on internet are Windows 8/Windows 8 Pro & so on.
Would my key work with them?

    Not sure.

I have a feeling you would have to find a core single language install media for your key to work.

I don't know much about how that works - I believe MS are doing that in some places.

I believe you can convert the media. You would need a bit of familiarity with that kind of thing.

Probably worth a try with msdn iso - just install to a different partition so you don't interefere with the current one. See if it works for you.

What language have you got on there now?

Embedded key should do the job with proper install medium.

So this is the version of windows that i got with my Laptop. It's English!

I don't have any Installation DVD. And i want to do a custom install, delete partitions, create new one. Format & All.

So as to what i understand:

    I should:

    1. Download a Windows 8 64Bit ISO
    2. Burn it on a DVD
    3. Install it. It'll get the CDKey from UEFI or something automatically? (i got my cdkey from Belarc Advise though)

Is that all? What about Windows 8 Single Language? Is it different from normal windows 8 or the windows 8 Pro?

So do i need any 64Bit ISO from Internet? or do i need a 64bit Single Language ISO?

Personally, I wouldn't get an ISO from the internet. My opinion is that doing so is not "legally" supportable. Others disagree. As mentioned, I would use MS system builder software installed under the personal-use license. Your embedded product key should be found automatically when installing.

Activation should happen automatically whatever you install with. If you have problems, then you might think about using the reset option covered here: Clean Install with Windows 8 Upgrade. You would be reinstalling, and often, at least, this procedure is needed after a reinstall.

If you get an ISO that is just floating about somewhere, then it will need to be 64-bit and have UEFI support (see option 2 in this thread Windows 8 Upgrade ISO - Download or Create). I am having trouble figuring out why it would need to be single language. Doubt you'll just bump into a single-language ISO.

I doubt your drive set up is hybrid. So, it seems to me that you could install on the SSD. Not sure though. Who knows what might happen especially on an OEM preintalled? If you do anything significant along the lines you are thinking, then be sure you data are backed up off computer.

You could always call HP and ask about the single-language thing and get more info on your drive set up. You also could ask HP about the warranty implications of doing what you want to do.

You could also return the computer and try to find one you'll be happier with out of the box.
