I just bought a new pc. Actually, I bought the parts and am building it myself. This is my first load of Windows 8. I got everything hooked up, then turned on the pc and inserted the win8 install disk. Everything starts up fine until it asks me to select a location to install windows... There's no HDD listed. I'm using a windows 8 Western Digital Caviar Green 500 GB Sata HDD. I've tried loading the drivers multiple ways and it just refuses to work. I inserted the utility disc for my motherboard and tried to take the sata drivers from that... no luck. I also can't find out where to download the drivers for this particular Hard drive. I'm completely stuck at this point... Please help me!

At least tell us what your motherboard make and model is.

I believe that most motherboards of recent manufacture require no third party drivers to install Windows, if you're not doing RAID.

Even if you were, there will be no drivers particular to the hard drive. The drivers would be for the SATA controller.

Does the HD show up in the BIOS? If not, that indicates a hardware problem. (Bad drive, bad motherboard, drive not connected properly.)

Thanks for suggestions guys. I marked this as solved. I turned off the pc during setup when it couldn't find my drive to try to research the issue, which is when I posted this thread. I turned it back on to try again and suddenly my hdd was just there. I don't know what happened that first time around, but it works now, so I'm happy :D. Thanks again for your time.
