hello i has a laptop toshiba nb 500 13c and i has a win7 and i want to upgrade to windows 8 but when i open the

upgrade assiest this is say that i dont has a uefi 2.3.1 for secure boot thats of hardware this problem so how i do

that i wiil has a uefi 2.3.1 please help


this is the problem: Secure boot requires firmware that supports UEFI v2.3.1 Errata B and has the Microsoft Windows Certification

Authority in the UEFI signature database (and i dont has that this is say so how i do for that i will has that?)

If your PC doesn't have UEFI BIOS version 2.3.1, it won't support Secure Boot. Basically, this doesn't really matter. It's just telling you that your BIOS doesn't support the Secure Boot feature of Windows 8, which is NOT an actual requirement for your PC. That's a new UEFI BIOS version that wasn't out when 7 was around. All NEW Windows 8 PCs require that to be Windows 8 certified.

Essentially, just go ahead and install Windows 8. This isn't a concern. Also, for the sake of your sanity, please do a custom install of Windows 8 (you will need to make a bootable DVD or USB flash drive after backing up your personal files elsewhere) over an upgrade. The upgrade will carry over some junk from Windows 7 to 8 that could cause issues down the road. A clean custom install is a squeaky clean version of Windows 8. We have some tutorials here on the forums that tell you in depth about this.

but i has a problem becuse i dont has a secure boot this is the problem::

when i power to pc so in the first when the logo of windows 8 coming the pc is shutdown but after that i power

the pc so it work its only in the first time and evrey time this is do this and i speak to microsoft and they say me

this is becuse i dont has a secure boot

and another thing i has more 2 laptop and both thare are dosnt has this problem becuse they dosnt wirte them

that they dosnt a secure boot and they computer more old of my pc that has the problem!

Windows 8 will install with or without Secure Boot.

Secure Boot is only on New OEM PC's & New Motherboard's made for Windows 8.
