I can't add a picture to my Administrator account

I had uninstalled Windows 8 and reverted to W7. After regreting it, I went back to W8 and I have been installing updates and stuff. It's all back to "normal". There is one thing that is bothering me though: When I've tried to add a picture to my administrator user account. By the way, I AM the only user and the option to browse and camera are grayed out. Any idea on why this may be???

Possibly corruption. Try sfc /scannow (may need to run multiple times--say 3).

I'll run it and will let you know what happened. If it's indeed corruption, I hope I can fix it. Thanks!

Uhh.. Sorry! Did you mean to run cmd at boot and not while in Windows 8, from the desktop?

You are very welcome. Just run with elevated command prompt from desktop.

Well... I did what you suggested and it didn't fix my problem yet. Do you think that a service is turned off or something like that??

I doubt that a turned-off service is the answer. Did you do an upgrade install when going back to 8? Sometimes things don't work as well as under a clean install?

Actually, what I did is to install while still in Windows 7. I figured that if I installed over it, everything should go smoothly. Do you think I should have wiped W7 prior to installing W8?

Yes, in general. But, I am not sure your upgrade method is responsible for your problem--could be though. Is everything else working OK. If yes, I might not clean reinstall for a picture, but some would.

Definitely might not work, but you could try creating a new user account of the same type with which you typically login. Copy everything you will need to the new account (from C: > Users > Old User Account) if the new account works. Then, delete the old account. You can go back to the original user name similarly. Before you do so, make sure that deleting the original user account also deleted that user's folder in C: > Users. Sometimes this folder does not get deleted. If not, then going back to the original user name creates a minor only superficial "problem." To delete the folder, you may have to take ownership. I would not go back the original user name using any other procedure.
