windows xp cannot start (dual boot 8 and xp)

i want to get the dual boot option, 8 and XP, my 8 is in C and i've successfully installed xp on D, and i have an quite important assignment, so must boot from 8 to do that, then i did startup repair with windows 8 installation DVD, and succeessfully did that, and after finished my assignment then i want to add XP to boot option, i use easybcd and did the same as this Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP - Windows 7 Forums
but the xp always cannot be loaded, my laptop always directly boots from 8. please help me

Actually, I had a very similar situation -- after I installed Win8 on a PC with XP, the Previous Windows Version selection would NOT work.

What did work was the following (in EasyBCD):
1) Run EasyBCD in Win8
2) Use the option to edit the BCD
3) Use the option to add an OS -- select the one ending in XP
4) Use the option to search for the OS
5) When the boot option is added, save the changes
6) Reboot, selecting the new option -- and confirm it works (it did for me)

If it works, do the following:
1) Reboot into Win8
2) Use the option to edit the BCD
3) Remove the Winxp boot selection that does not work
4) If you want, you can change the order of the boot list to move the new XP (the one that does work) to the top of the list
5) If you want, you can rename the new XP option to what you want
6) Save the changes
