Win 7 and 8 with same user files?

I have Win 7 installed on an SSD with all other files on separate disks. (User files, etc) Can I also install, to dual boot, Win 8 and point everything to the same user files on the same separate disks?

Although I don't dual boot (yet), I have Win 7 on one drive, Win 8 on another and my data files on a WD MyBook. I do have all my programs installed on each of the drives. MS Office 2010 is on both drives as are all the browsers I use. PaperPort, CD Labeller, graphics programs, etc.

No matter which OS drive I'm using, I can get to whichever data file I need on MyBook.

In principle yes. But you may have to fix a permission problem.

Particularly if you include Folders into Libraries.....!!
