Good day to all.

Currently I have dual boot Windows 7 & 8 on my 500GB SATA HDD.

I am planning of installing/adding new 1TB SATA HDD.

How to I copy the dual boot Windows 7 & 8 from the 500GB HDD to the 1TB HDD (My plan is to use the 500 GB HDD as data files back-up only)

Thanks a lot.

Wouldn't depend on the speed of the drive. If the new one is 7200 rpm, and the old 5400 rpm then yes the new one should be the System drive, albeit if they both are 7200 rpm then use the original as the main drive and the new one as storage.

A course if the old is older than three years then the new drive is the way to go.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to state that my 500GB HDD is now at only 70% health-life, that I am force to choose the 1TB HDD as the Main Drive.

I have read "How to migrate OS to new Hard Disk," (using Paragon tool), excuse my ignorance but this puzzles me a little:

My partition now on the 500GB HDD is 250GB for Win7 and 250GB for Win8:
>> What happens after completing the Hard Disk Migration on the new 1TB HDD (or will the partition on the new 1TB HDD be automatically 500GB Win7 and 500GB Win8)?

Thanks again.

Clone is the way to go, (sector by sector).
As Ztruker said.

There are other harder ways to do it, if you're into headaches all and that.
