I have a new Vaio Laptop... I have printed instructions from Sony Support on how to install 7 on an 8 computer.
In case you wish to see them.... Sony eSupport - Windows® 7 Clean Install Instructions for Windows® 8 PCs
I am stuck at number 7 of Installing Operation System (Sony List). I change the Boot Mode to Legacy, booted to the Windows Install CD, and went to Custom Install.... At the screen where there is a list of hard drives, and partitions.... I did number 7.. picked Disk 0 Partition 2... I get a message from Windows Installer (OEM 64bit Home Prem) which says... Windows cannot be installed to disc 0 partition 2. The selected disk is of the GPT style. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers bios menu.
I went chatted online with Sony... basically I get the feeling they don't know. The person said to switch back to UEFI. I told them Why? as the instructions just had me switch from UEFI to Legacy. Then they said they were sorry.. hold on... Came back with a "reset the BIOS and see what happens !!!
Any Suggestions ? Thanks In Advance !
edit..There are 6 OEM partitions... I tryed them all.. got the same error
