Solved How to re-install upgrade

I purchased the $40 upgrade and installed it, but I was having some trouble and didn't have time to sort it out, so I wiped the hard drive and reinstalled my Win 7 pro. Now all I have is the key, so how do I go about recovering when I'm ready to proceed with upgrading to Win 8?
