clean REINSTALL of windows 8

I recently upgraded to windows 8 pro from my windows 7 machine. I chose the "keep files and settings" upgrade option .
There is a problem with extremely slow web browsing ( must be the computer as other devices are fine on the same net ) and launching games (errors occur ).
I figured maybe it would be easier to do a clean install of windows 8 as I have spent a couple of days updating drivers , deleting various applications that may be problematic to windows 8 but there is no luck .
Can I just run the upgrade assistant application I got with purchasing win 8 and clean install it OVER the already installed win 8 ( same product )?
Can the clean install be done from a external HDD or does it have to be a flash drive ? I dont have a 32 gb flashdrive.

If you like, you could just reset Windows 8 which basically does the same as a clean install but faster.

If you prefer, you could do a normal clean install of a Windows 8 upgrade as well.

Both options require a Windows 8 installation DVD or USB, but the USB only needs to be 4 GB to create one with.

Will it run the same if I use the upgrade assistant to clean install even though I have used that assistant to do a custom install in the first place ?

Sorry, but you will not be able to use the upgrade assistant to install from inside Windows 8.

In which case what would you suggest ?
I dont think I coild reset windows 8 as I never made an image of it to a disk or flashdrive in the first place

You could just use the method in the tutorial below to download an ISO file to use to create a DVD or USB with.

Quick question though, I never had to put the key in when I upgraded initially to windows 8. Would downloading it and using the same key I was given cause any problems, for example will the system think that the key has already been used (even if it is me who is using it, on the same machine!)?

No it wont.
You just need to enter the key you received on your e-mail.

Right so I have downloaded and made an iso image of the windows 8 (it took about 8 hours to download because of the slower internet connection associated with my windows 8 that i mentioned before). I burnt it to a disc. I restarted my computer in attempt to change the boot order ( as i used to be able to on windows 7) then after some internet searches I found out that windows 8 64 bit has a protection in that you cant change the order of boot?
any ideas? can i just run straight from the disc after fully logging on?

Boot order is BIOS, not Windows 8.
