Key not working when reinstalled windows 8 pro

Hey.

I am just in the process of clearing out my laptop and decided to wipe it all as it was feeling a little sluggish. Problem I bow face is the product key that came with my Windows 8 pro software order will not be accepted again when trying to reinstall Windows.

What's going on? There is not even an option for calling Microsoft and using the automated line similar to previous MS products?

Should I worry and is there a way around?

If I understand your post, the problem is that you have installed Win8 without having a qualifying OS on the disk. Maybe this will be of interest:

No the product key that I got when ordering my Windows 8 was for a full version not an upgrade and it worked initially 2 months ago,

Do you get a message?

Does it say it is the wrong key - or that the key is already in use?

I get the messaging saying that the key is wrong even though I can use that key to get back the key request screen when installing windows 8...

How did you obtain the key?

The only "full" version I've read of is the System Builder one, which functions like the old full retail license in a machine for personal use, but like a generic OEM one in a machine for resale.
