novice here:
Using HP desktop win7. For 75th birthday got win8 pro from ms store. Read a dual boot article online said make a 50g partition on c drive. did that, said put in cd. did that and, oh joy, worked great....pretty soon had win8 to play with to see what all the fuss was about. Started checking it out and all was happiness and joy for about 15 minutes then a big red popup said win8 failed or something.
Now it's gone and can't find anywhere....looked in c drive, partition is still there, explored and is full of files..but no boot select on restart...looked in msconfig > boot and not there..?!? Did the ESC thing on restart but don't see any win8 !! Sooooo...
Can I erase the partition (or whatever one calls the erasing) and do the whole thing over? or make new one and retry? In the Ozarks here and no tech help for 50 miles...forget the whole thing and find something else to play with? Just curious anyway, don't need it
