I may have screwed up. I was running dual boot win 7 64 and vista 32. After reading questionable reviews on Win8 I decided to upgrade Vista and leave my win 7 version alone. Now I have Win 8 32 on that drive.

Quetions:
If I want to go to Win 8 64 bit can I do it with my existing license or do I need to purchase and re-download from my Win 7 operating system to get a Win8 64 bit license before the discount expires?

If I need to purchase a 64 bit version and I remove the Win8 32 version can I install that on another computer say family or friend so it dosn't go to waste?

Welcome to EightForums.

Your license is good on a x32 or x64 install.

You won't need to do anything with 7 if you dual boot. You can do an install of 64 bit 8 using a clean install with even nothing currently running on the drive. You may have to do phone activation--which is no big deal.

I installed over vista from USB and chose keep nothing. I was never asked what version I wanted so I am still confused just how to get the 64 bit installed. Nice to know I am good to go and don't have to rush home to get another copy. I will have to do more studying to figure this out.

Is the copy on my usb drive 32 or both 32 & 64 dependent on what is on destination drive?
