Windows 8 Install "Load Media Driver"

Hi all, I am trying to install a oem copy of windows 8 64 bit onto my desktop, using a microsoft install dvd. I've installed xp, vista, and windows 7 onto it without any issues whatsoever, however when trying to install windows 8, I keep getting an error in windows setup that states the following:

Load Driver
A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USP or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.

Since I'm using an actual microsoft disc, and the hash checks out okay, I'm not really sure how to proceed, as it doesn't seem to be the disc image.

I tried searching the forum but the solutions I've come across are vague, and usually relate to USB/VMware installs instead of using a retail DVD.

Does anyone have any solutions on how I can get past this error?
Thanks,
-Alan

Do you have an external DVD player? Try with that . the same thing happened to me just last night when I tried to install on my Lenovo notebook (4 yrs. old) Same exact message. Using external player worked for me. EDIT: internal player works now. Win 8 must have the correct driver.

With Windows 8 people are having problems with their DVDs, I was one of them, try changing the Sata cable on the motherboard to another slot, worked for me.

Actually, I just looked at your DVD, it's the same as mine.

Apparently, you are not trying to upgrade, but it really wouldn't matter. And, you could follow my suggestion no matter what system currently is installed. Anyway, to see if you can gather pertinent info, try running the Windows 8 upgrade assistant. Also, by OEM, I assume you are referring to the OEM system builder software and probably trying to install under the personal use license, right?
