I bought a Samsung laptop with windows 8 preinstalled in it.I am not getting good performance on my laptop (Laptop specs are intel i3 2nd generation,4gb ddr3 ram). When i right click on the desktop it takes about 10 seconds for the right click menu to open.Other activities too are not that fast.I havent put much softwares in my laptop. The only softwares i have on my laptop are avast, ccleaner, defraggler, evernote, malwarebytes anti malware, open office, sandboxie, teamviewer and zonealarm.I also have eclipse and android adt plugins installed. The hard disk too is majorly empty with hardly any data in my latop.I still fail to understand why i am getting slower performance than my deshtop pc(win7) which is core 2 duo and just 2gb ram and has tons of crap in it.I would like to completely reformat my pc but i havent got any CD when i bought the laptop. What do i do???How do i format without a cd???

Thanks in advance.

Can you check to see what software is running in the background? With Zonealarm and Avast....there might be some conflicts going on there with both AV running at the same time. Just use one of those....before going to the extreme of reformatting.

Can you return your computer to factory fresh? If yes, then do so and do without all "protection" except Windows Defender and Windows firewall for awhile to see how your machine performs. Also, uninstall any trial AV-type software. If Norton anything is on your machine, then uninstall it using the uninstaller on the Norton website. I am not sure if there is an uninstaller for McAfee on the company's website, but check it out before uninstalling McAfee anything. In there is no uninstaller on the McAfee website, then just uninstall using Control Panel > Programs and Features.

Besides removing the dual A/V's there are plenty of other preinstalled bloat wares that will slow your system way down.

Pcdecrapifier is helpful because it shows you a list of preinstalled bloatware that can be safely removed from your system.
