Like I said before, the installation finished with an error, but when I looked in C:\NVIDIA\, there were some files extracted. So I think drivers were installed, because before that I couldn't log in to my Windows 8 user account, just the boot animations showed up.

After installing those drivers, I could enter to dekstop, but it was all fu*ked up like the image in first post.

I can't use nVidia drivers or those supplied in Windows Update. Uninstall anything in Program's related to nVidia, change the driver in device manger to the Microsoft WDM version supplied with the OS. Only way I can use my admittedly old Quadro FX 540 card.

Can you please explain how to change the drivers to Microsoft WDM?

And I will be able to normally play games, run Photoshop etc. like I have drivers installed from official site?

    OK!

To do this quickly, hit + X or right click on the lower left corner and open up Device Manager. Expand the Display adapters section and double click on the video card that is having the driver issues. The GTX was it? Click on the Driver tab in the popup box and then hit Uninstall at the bottom of it. This will uninstall the driver and you will need to restart. Or, if you have the option, hit Roll Back Driver, which will uninstall the current faulty driver and go back to the Windows default driver, basically you can do either or here.

Restart, and Windows should reinstall the default driver again, not the NVIDIA one.

I wouldn't recommend installing the official NVIDIA drivers for Windows 8 until you've checked this out, like googling or Binging "NVIDIA GTX 470 Windows 8 driver issues" and seeing if other people are having the same problem as you. If not, then you try downloading the LATEST driver for Windows 8 from the NVIDIA support site.

my suggestion is to uninstall the nvida driver in device manager if its there ,shut down the computer and remove the nvida card from the computer ,reboot the computer to make sure its working ok with the integrated drivers ,if it ok ,shutdown and reinstall the nvida card ,hook the monitor to the card and reboot win8 ,it should load the win8 default driver for the nvida card ,it should work ok, if you wish you could then try to install the latest drivers for the video card make sure to install the 64 bit drivers ,if it doesn't work then you will have to wait for a fix of the win8 drivers

Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> Right Click nVidia card -> Properties -> Drivers Tab -> Update Driver -> Browse My Computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer -> select the driver that says nVidia xxxx - Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.2

Alternatively uninstall anything by nVidia in Programs and Features, then goto Device manager and follow the first 4 steps but then choose uninstall, reboot and it should install the default MS driver.

And yes I can run all my creative suite program's, don't play any games so I wouldn't know but hey you can't play any games if the card don't work at all!!

Been there, done that, but no luck guys.
Tried almost everything, every combinations, but always resulted with failure.

I guess I need to stick to the Windows 7.

Uninstall the drivers and right click on the downloaded driver setup. Select compatibility options and let windows check it. Most likely it will tell you to use them as XP service pack 3, save that and tell windows to always use that. Should do the trick.
