Changed my mind

Hi, I am sorry if this issue was already discussed, but I couldn't find it. I decided yesterday to upgrade to windows 8 and I just started it. While I had to wait, I started reading about windows 8 and I came across "clean install". Unfortunately by that time I already choose "keep personal files", but now I am thinking I'd rather want a clean install. The system already finished the Iso file and I burnet it on a DVD.
Is it too late for a clean install? If not, what should I do?

It's never too late for a clean install. You can always wipe out your system and start over. In fact, that's what I usually do. This time, though, I decided that I didn't want to go through the hassle of re-installing everything. (I have a pretty involved set up). Decided to give the upgrade a try. This time I think it actually worked. Previous versions of Windows always seemed unstable after doing an upgrade install but, so far, this one has been solid as a rock. With the exception of a small handful of utilities that were clearly identified as being non-compatible everything works fine.

If your system is any more involved than just a few applications for web browsing, etc. - try the upgrade install first. You can always go back and do the clean install if that doesn't work out. Contrariwise, if you do a clean install first you can't go back to where you were before the upgrade - unless of course you do a full system image before the upgrade. I do recommend you do that in either case.
