OK now we are getting somewhere. Option 2 worked, I detached the Win. 7 drive and put the Win 8 drive in SATA 1 then re-started. Automatic repair said it could not repair my PC.

Disk Manager now shows the option to delete the Win 7 partition, should I go ahead and do this?

Which is saying Windows 8 is not booting.

Can you post a screen shot of Disk management from Windows 8?

Windows 8 is definitely booting so I went ahead and deleted the Windows 7 partition with no problems. I then used Minitool Partition Wizard to re-size my partitions and re-booted. All appears to be working well EXCEPT!!! Automatic repair will still not work.

Automatic repair will still not work.
Note: You may need to do startup repair 3 to 4 times.

Why did you convert your Windows 7 HDD from Basic to Dynamic?

I didn't, the system must have done it somehow. I was not aware of a change. What should it be?

OK , I will give it a go.

I have just run Automatic Repair 4 times powering off in between. Still no joy.

Partition Wizard 4.2 will not install on my Win. 8.

Easeus Partition Master does not provide the option to convert Dynamic to Basic.

Disk Management also does NOT offer the option to convert.

This is becoming a very steep hill to climb
