Help with clean install windows 8

Using steps posted by Admin "Brink" Im trying to do a clean install of windows 8 on a desk top computer that had a crash (virus) and then was recovered to factory settings with out doing a back up first. The original OS was windows 7 64bit. The computer is a HP Pavillion a4316f-b, AMD Aflon II 620 Quad core 6GB DDR3 system memory, 1 Terabyte hard drive, Nivdia Geforce 9100 graphics. I dont understand a lot of computer lingo so please bear with me. A Staples computer tech sold me windows 8 Pro and said to do a clean install and that should bring the computer back to life. However I am having problems, I get through steps 1 through 9 in your tutorial and after step 9 the computer restarts but it goes to the HP blue screen with the choices "Esc=boot" "F11 recover" and so on... and just hangs there untill the monitor goes to sleep and the computer shuts down. I restart the computer but it seems to be doing install all over again which takes 20 to 40 min. Why cant I get to step 10? And if I may ask a silly question? During the installation of windows 8 there is no antivirus software in the computer, should I be installing windows 8 with the computer disconnected from the internet?
    Thanks for any help.

Are you deleting all the partitions first?

Yes, following all the steps from Brink. the install will not advance beyond step 9 and when the computer restarts it just hangs on the "blue HP" screen. In step 6 to 8 I go to "Custom (advanced)" and Im shown 3 partitions, I delete all 3 and left with one "unallocated". I select it and click next, and it starts the install of windows 8, it takes aprox 1/2 hour then restarts, with the disc still in the "C" drive the blue HP (hewlett packard) screen comes up and it stays up it doesnt go to step 10 "Personalize".

ok, did this "Boot to diskpart" . following the steps 1 to 4 I get through them all except in step 3 "type clean" it says "just relax and let it work" well it only takes a second and goes right to "Diskpart succeeded". It takes no time at all. QUESTION: in step 3 it say's to type "clean" and then <enter> I notice there are reference's to "clean all" should I be typing "clean all" and not just "clean"? Anyway after step 3 I moved to step 4 type exit 2 times and continue with windows 8 install, but same thing happens, it installs W8 and restarts and goes to the HP start up screen and stays there, the monitor goes to sleep and the computer shuts down. Im about to take it to staples & let the tech do it, costing me yet another 140 bucks! What if I just bought a new hard drive?

Did you buy an upgrade disc? If so, you will need to install an earlier version of Windows before you can install (7 for example)--even if wanting to do a clean install. You may think it is advantageous to be connected to the internet when installing--to get available updates, to login via a MS account, and to facilitate network creation/internet connectivity. In this regard, installing while connected to the internet almost invariably is not a problem. After installing, you may want to think about what I mention in my sig.
