Here is what happened.
I bought HP Envy dv6 7201tx (i5,6GB,2GB nVidia,750GB,Win8 Pro)

I used EaseUS Partition manager to resize "C:" and create a new partition in my notebook.
Unfortunately it failed after restart. And windows failed to load and UEFI told that boot not found.
I restarted nearly 7 to 8 times. Its no avail.

So I decided to Repair using Windows 8 USB-HDD created from ISO. Since I am not provided with any DVD Accessories from HP.
To my surprise it doesnt recognise my USB.

I went into BIOS setup and modified something like "Legacy support" to "Enabled" which is already disabled.
And the "Secureboot" option below it automatically faded out to "Disabled". And it said your system will boot in BIOS Mode in next restart.

After reboot I found UEFI to recognise my USB and furthur continued to install Windows 8 and activated it using the Product Key.:thumb: And in the process i formatted my entire harddisk from GPT to MBR.

To my surprise I found System properties to show "Installed Memory: 6.00GB (929MB usable)
Then only i found myself wrong in doing the process. I have to install Windows 8 with UEFI Enabled and get my RAM memory back. Please help me. Note that UEFI Mode doesnt recognise my bootable USB-HDD.

The only 3rd party software that I know of, that fully supports Windows 8 is PARAGON 12.

Paragon 12 now supports Windows 8 uEFI, GPT & Secure Boot.

Creating HP Recovery media

HP Recovery Manager is a software program that offers a way to create recovery media after you
successfully set up the computer. HP Recovery media can be used to perform system recovery if the
hard drive becomes corrupted. System recovery reinstalls the original operating system and the
software programs installed at the factory, and then configures the settings for the programs. HP
Recovery media can also be used to customize the system or aid in the replacement of a hard drive.

No I haven't created any Recovery media.:( I thought it wont be necessary. I never knew that my laptop have GPT partition tables ,running over UEFI and EaseUS Partition master is incompatible with it, before this incident.
But I have Operating system installation image and a valid product key. Will it wont work down to resolve my current issue?.:sarc:

And thanks for pointing out Paragon Partition Manager. I will try to install the OS with UEFI Mode and reply as soon as possible.
Thanks:thumb:

I found that UEFI only supports 64-bit installation media. does it mean "it only opens bootx64.efi and not bootia32.efi " or anything else?

The first part of my will resolve your current issue.

I found that UEFI only supports 64-bit installation media. does it mean "it only opens bootx64.efi and not bootia32.efi " or anything else?

Not install Windows 7/8 x32 on a x64 system, I see no point, as x32 will not support 4gb ram & above.

Facing a new issue... "A media driver your computer needs is missing"...UEFI successfully booted my Windows 8 Pro x64 installation disk. While going to make partitions , it showed the above error. Is there really a driver to be installed. I dont know about SATA or IDE etc. and my Bios doesn't have any option to modify those things. If there is really a driver for my Laptop harddisk, where to get it. Also to mention that i dont have any USB2.0 slots , everything is USB 3,0 and one eSATA port. I used command prompt-diskpart during installation by pressing Ctrl F10, The "list disk" command , showed that there is no disk.So Please guide me.Thanks.

Just want to know a thing.Windows 8 installed flawlessly even without drivers when UEFI and Secureboot is disabled. But when UEFI and secureboot enabled, Windows needs SATA drivers. What actually a EFI does. Does it show HDD differently to Windows to make it require Driver.

Windows 8 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Secure boot

See also: Unified Extensible Firmware Interface#Secure boot and Hardware restrictions#Windows 8

Windows 8 supports a feature of the UEFI specification known as "Secure boot", which uses a public-key infrastructure to verify the integrity of the operating system and prevent unauthorized programs such as bootkits from infecting the device.

Despite the security benefits of the feature, Microsoft faced criticism (particularly from free software supporters) for mandating that devices receiving its optional certification for Windows 8 have secure boot enabled by default using a key provided by Microsoft. Concerns were raised that secure boot could prevent or hinder the use of alternate operating systems such as Linux. In response to the criticism, Microsoft developer Tony Mangefeste stated that "At the end of the day, the customer is in control of their PC. Microsoft’s philosophy is to provide customers with the best experience first, and allow them to make decisions themselves."

Microsoft's certification requirements eventually revealed that UEFI firmware on x86 systems must allow users to re-configure or turn off secure boot, but that this must not be possible on ARM-based systems (Windows RT). Microsoft faced further criticism for its decision to restrict Windows RT devices by using this functionality, despite it being consistent with other consumer electronics with similar protection measures. No mandate is made regarding the installation of third-party certificates that would enable running alternative software

Can I offer a suggestion?
Get a 32gb USB stick and go to hp recovery manager and copy the recovery partition to the stick.

I too have a brand new Hp dv7 and was able to install windows on a brand new (formatted) SSD hard drive with nothing but my recovery USB.

Another thing I really like about the HP recovery manager I that you can restore the system from a "minimalized image"
Basically go back to scratch with only the operating system and drivers.
No factory installed "bloat ware"

Hope this helps

No problems. What I'm saying is that I reinstalled windows on a formatted hard drive with the recovery stick. So it does apply. There was no hard drive in my machine other then the brand new SSD.

MAKE YOUR RECOVERY MEDIA !!
It'll save your bacon!! ;)
