Win8 Win7 dual boot issue

I have a new windows8 preloaded laptop, and I found a tutorial on this forum on how to dual boot with win7. Im not sure if windows8 has anything to do with it, but when I boot to the DVD to install windows7, it ends up just sitting at the start up splash screen saying "starting windows". I downloaded win7 pro from a program through school, I might have burned the image wrong but I doubt it.

any idea what might be the issue? I swear the easiest things always become difficult for me.

Thank you for the help.

I first went into the bios and switched the ODD to the top of the boot order, restarted and booted to the DVD . that is when I got the freeze om the start screen. then I went into advanced start up, and booted from a device, not sure if it showes to dvd drive, but I booted from one of them and its resulted in the same out come frozen screen. as far as a similar screen to tge screenshot I can not find one. pressing F12 at start up does not work and which should bring me to the page of the screenshot, which I cant get to.

the problem is I have yet to find a screen that resembles this one. unless the Boot from a device setting in advanced startup is the same thing? thats the only place I saw UEFI in front of the device, but Im not 100%sure if the DVD drive was listed?

Yes, and I assume you use this at start up. as in starting the computer and pressing F12 to access the boot menu, like in other versions of wimdows, but F12, wont work, just boots normally. Iv tried all of tge normal buttons to access the boot menu non of them are working, everuthing boots normally. thats why I am having issues

I looked it up online and it says F12 is the button but its not working, tapping, holding, I even tried Morse Code! it continues to boot normally. its confusing and frusterating because it should work its so simple

Check all your BIOS setting, sounds like your BOOT MENU is DISABLED.

alright under system configurations: Boot Mode = UEFI Mode.
aternate choices are: CSM Boot, for legacy Bios.
I assume Windows7 pro is UEFI capable.

I dont see anything else that might be to enable the boot menu, unless its got a special name

yes with in the firmware setting I do not have a boot over ride setting.

I went ahead and tried to install again, by going to advanced start up, boot to device, and there it listed the "UEFI Matshitsa (something)" which I know to be the ODD from seeing it listed as that in the bios. I clicked it and it restarted, saying " windoes files loading" on a black screen (nornal) then goes to the windows splashscreen saying "starting windows" with logo (normal). then it just stays there on the splash screen with no progress bar. (not normal)and doesnt do anything after this point. im sitting at this screen now
