I have this problem in installing windows 8 from a USB I Google it and found something and I used windows 7 USB DVD tool to create a bootable flash drive now I I go to advanced BIOS features and on my first boot device I have "USB-CDROM"/"USB-FDD"/"USB-ZIP"/"USB-HDD"/ I don't know which one should I choose and how can I now that my motherboard support installing from a USB drive or not? (My Board: Gigabyte EP43-DS3)

    Solution:

1St: Legacy USB should be enable
2Nd: Put hard disk priority to the USB device that you are using
3Rd: Use USB-HDD and you are done

Sounds like someone has been playing around in the BIOS, as the Gigabyte EP43-DS3 from new has the Legacy USB enable by Default.

What works with Legacy BIOS is to set your HDD to boot first, then trigger the USB stick using the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key. It will be under USB, Removable or HD's but you may need to expand one to see the actual stick listed to choose to boot.

This might be a little late but,
I made a recovery flash drive (16 GBs) that copied my factory recovery drive.
A prompt said I could remove the factory drive now to free up space.
    I clicked No.
It gave me the information on how to use the flash drive.

    Restart computer.
    At Splash screen press Alt/F10
In the screen choose Restore System From:-----------------
The Flash drive will be one of the options to choose from.

Another computer besides a Gateway may have a different F key option.
