    irql_not_less_or_equal in windows 8 install

Cant install windows 8, it gets halfway through then I get the blue screen and message irql not less or equal, was wondering how to solve this?

I am trying to install the 64-bit version and have an acer aspire with a 1.3ghz processor, 4gb of ram and 181gb free on my hard drive

I am installing through the iso method and trying to install the windows 8 pro version however I need help on how to get past this message, any help would be appreciated,

    Cheers

    Hello there!

Are you installing on a laptop, desktop, AIO, or tablet PC?

This may be a driver issue.

Try Cleaning the HD Drive, using Step one in this tutorial:

Did you use the Windows 8 Update Assistant to see if you have incompatibilities? If you still want to use the upgrade approach, then you'll need to reinstall 7 (if you still what you want 64 bit) or an earlier 64-bit version of Windows.

I ran the upgrade assisstant and it came up with 2 items for me to review, one was that i need an application to play back DVD's in windows 8 and the other was this:

'Secure Boot isn't compatible with your PC
Your PC's firmware doesn't support Secure Boot so you
won't be able to use it in Windows 8.'

could this be the cause and if so, how do I get round it?

I had the same ones. They weren't problems for me. They won't be probs for you. Search on free Windows 8 windows media center. That'll take care of the DVD issue. The freebie will go away soon. I'd get you the link, but I'm on my phone. You probably can't get around the other, but I wouldn't be concerned. Good luck with whatever your problem is.
